This conference will showcase what teachers and students know and are able to
do in mathematics and mathematics education. The OCTM Conference in
Columbus is certain to honor, inspire, and challenge all of us in the teaching and
learning of mathematics.
Below are suggested types of sessions that align well with our theme. All are
encouraged to find a spot to suit your contribution or create one that will further
enhance our celebration.
T R A D I N G S P A C E S
We’re looking for pairs of teachers from different grade bands willing to
visit, interact, and reflect on experiences in each other’s classrooms. And
those who dare can actually trade spaces by teaching each other’s classes.

Have a student with mathematical talent that you would like to showcase?
In this type of session, teachers will have the opportunity to introduce their
students who will, in turn, present their exceptional work.

In the age of technology, we live in a world of haves and have-nots. We’re
looking for mathematics teachers who do it all with very little.
S O , Y O U T H I N K Y O U C A N T E A C H
Many of you are already teaching in a way that aligns with the “new”
Common Core Standards. Share a task, activity, or lesson that embodies
the spirit of a specific Common Core State Standard.

Assemble a team of students who will compete against teachers for
mathematics prowess bragging rights.

rewarding experience for all. If you are part of one of these kinds of teams
